Modern stands for Modern Theatre Dance. This is the main style utilised within musical theatre. It is a rhythmic dance style which originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen in productions of musicals and is known for its theatrical qualities.

 

The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. It is a highly energetic dance style and extremely enjoyable. We teach the syllabus designed and developed by the ISTD, one of the worlds leading dance examination boards.
